The rest, as they say, is history.

Leaning heavily on our backgrounds in psycho-acoustics and electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering, we launched a design project that, as it turns out, occupied two years. It was not time wasted. We have always under stood that determined engineering and materials-application result in superior performance. Even so, the Craz project delights us as much as anything we’ve ever done. Nor have our efforts gone unrecognized. We’ve revamped the Ohio-Class isoBASE Series. By increasing the overall thickness of our super rigid build materials (from .75 to 1.25 inches); we’ve increased strength and housing rigidity five-fold while at the same time reducing weight. Performance gains show better than a 5% increase in isolation properties. In performance terms, the new Ohio-Class Audio isoBASE effectively isolates down to 2.0 Hz..

The Ohio-Class isoBASE Series incorporates two key design principles: cabinet rigidity and our full-flex RAFT, an innovation which in principle resembles an Ohio-Class nuclear submarine’s vibration-suppression system. Thus the Ohio Class isoBASE Series’ odd but relevant name. Our component -specific designs assure silent running.

The Ohio-Class Audio isoBASE is available in high-gloss or matte black. Optional colors may be available at an additional cost.

Ohio-Class XL IsoBASE

The XL version of the Ohio-Class isoBASE Series features our most advanced designs and materials. Each unit is built around a massive HY-80 high-tensile-steel RAFT. The RAFT is the first and fatal problem vibrations face en route to your equipment. Ohio-Class XL Audio isoBASE units employ super rigid build materials, 2.0" in thickness.

Our room -specific information process measures an Ohio-Class XL isoBASE’s isolation properties down to an astonishing .50 Hz. The design of an Ohio-Class XL isoBASE Series is based on three key ingredients: cabinet rigidity, cabinet mass and a full-featured, full-length RAFT.

Over the past year, we’ve developed a “hot-rod” version of our critically acclaimed Ohio-Class XL product, the Ohio-Class XL plus. Designed specifically for use with high-end amplifiers, the plus version features several refinements, including a materials upgrade.

The "VR" Series isoBASE product line is our newest, most cost effective isoBASE design. This new SRA Audio isoBASE has quickly become our best selling isolation device, and for good reason.

The "VR" Series isoBASE features all of the key design elements used in our acclaimed "Ohio-Class" XL Series isoBASE, but takes a different approach in controlling and eliminating vibrations.

The most obvious difference is the appearance of the main housing. By eliminating the HY-80 high tensile steel "RAFT", used in the "Ohio-Class" XL isoBASE (and the time needed to produce & install this "RAFT"), we were able to do two things.

First, we were able to gain additional room needed for our super rigid build materials to be used throughout construction.

Secondly, it allows for a simpler build process, which drastically reduces unit cost. This is done without sacrificing the performance our high-end audio customers expect from an SRA audio isolation platform.

It's the use of our new, super rigid build materials, which allows us to bring component specific design to all audiophiles, at attainable price points. The "VR" Series isoBASE effectively isolates down to 3 Hz. "VR" Series isoBASE units are available in an attractive neutral finish.

Tremor/Less

Design

Silent Running Audio’s considerable reputation rests on its Component Specific Design™ technology. We don’t do anything haphazardly. SRA’s entry into the world of generic isolation has consumed close to two years of R&D.

In creating Tremor/Less ™, it has not been our purpose to bring to the marketplace yet another me-too product. Quite the contrary. We set out to expand the boundaries that limit the performance of non-specific, off-the-shelf designs. It is our sincere belief that we have raised the standard in a crowded A/V product segment.

Product Overview

By incorporating several of the design principles, materials, and assembly methods we use in our acclaimed Component Specific Design–based products, we have created in Tremor/Less a more modestly priced component with a strong and proven lineage.

Specifically, Tremor/Less employs a proprietary system, Set-Static Isolation™, which we developed using our state-of the-art modeling program. This software allows us to target and deal with problems most common to electronics and listening environments. We call this design technique problem averaging.

The Set-Static Isolation system embraces several key essentials. The heart of Tremor/Less consists of six semi-viscous compounds, each of which isolates and dampens specific frequency ranges. It’s this type of pinpoint targeting that allows Tremor/Less to eradicate problems and nothing else, thus allowing your system to transmit the accuracy and detail we audiophiles cherish.
